Kate Middleton has had a busy week of in-person engagements so far, and they’ve given the Duchess of Cambridge the chance to show the public a glimpse of both her casual and formal fall wardrobe. The Duchess opted to wear two blue looks over two days of engagements. She dressed down yesterday while visiting the University of Derby, wearing a Massimo Dutti checked coat, Massimo Dutti blue knit sweater, dark slacks, and Gianvito Rossi heels.
Kate social distanced while talking to others but notably did not wear a mask in many of the photos taken. The UK, like much of the world, remains in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. Wearing a mask is advised (and in many cases mandated in the UK) when you’re indoors or talking to people who are not in your household and are unable to social distance and stay six feet apart.
She did have a mask on when she visited students though; it’s the only shot of her wearing a mask during that engagement:
Today, Kate and Prince William hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena at Buckingham Palace. Kate pulled out another blue look for that engagement: a long-sleeved, belted Emilia Wickstead dress with nude heels. No one wore a mask during the indoor meeting, but the two couples did keep their distance. It’s unclear whether the couples were tested for COVID prior to meeting, but it wouldn’t be surprising if they were as an additional precaution.
